Clik here to view.Tablet devices could have a positive effect on the television industry according to new research from Strategy Analytics, which claims that people who use tablets to view shows are more engaged than typical TV viewers.
The report, simply titled Users More Engaged with Video Consumption on Tablet than on TV, finds that viewers are much less likely to be distracted when watching TV shows on the smaller tablet screen. However, there is a catch: the reason for this difference is that viewers watching TV on the big screen often find their attention diverted towards second screen activity on their tablets, smartphones etc.
“Connected multiscreen devices are bringing tremendous disruption to television viewing behaviour and, as always, disruption brings both threats and opportunities,” said Strategy Analytics VP of digital consumer practice David Mercer.
