Lumosity raises funding for research and marketing

Lumosity, which specialises in online brain-training games, has raised $31.5 million in a new funding round, with the money going towards further research into human cognitive performance as well as marketing.

The company has released more than 40 games to date, that focus on memory, attention, speed of processing and problem solving, according to Tech Crunch.

The Series D funding came from Discovery Communications, as well as existing investors Menlo Ventures, FirstMark Capital, Harrison Metal and Norwest Venture Partners. It brings Lumosity’s total funding to more than $70 million.
